POX just think all that money you can save with having those extra dependent (KIDS)......
Trust me, it is cheaper to pay the IRS than paying for kids.

I received my state income about 2 months ago, It has both my & my wifes name, she passed away back in July, my bank or the bank that issued it will not do anything with it, even with the death certificate in hand, they say it has to have her signature! ***! I've called the IRS numerous times in 2 months & have left messages each time with no response

Jeff, talked to my wife about that situation, she said you would have to get the IRS to issue half in your name and another check in your wife's name. Her half would have to be placed in the succession. If the IRS is not returning your calls I think I've heard her mention over the years there is a public complaint line and that usually gets there attention.

Pox, about 30 years ago, first time in business for my self. same thing happened to me. Went along all year running my business and making money.
didn't know anything about taxes i.e. selfemployement, quarterly estimated payments, etc. Well long story short April 14th the accountant informed me we owed $30K the next day (that is a lot of money now much less 30 years ago) had to go to the bank and borrow it. Didn't get a new boat that year either if my memory serves me right.

On my way out of BR to attend the Lake Charles CCA event tonight.

yeah i need to talk to my acct. and figure how much business i need to do to keep me in a lower tax bracket and how much i need to to that will make it worth my while if i get bumped up to the next bracket. all i know is this sucks. i guess i means i do good work though cuz except the year after katrina this year has been my busyest year even through the econonmy. im gonna pay em but it makes me wish i would have sent a lil more through out the year when i pre paid 1/4ly , and stashed some more back i gues the old phrase " cant take it with you" aint so true!!!
