Default The Bay 4/10

Slow day, hate fishing "The Point" when the tide is low and still falling. Caught 2 reds and called it quits early. Can't wait for the wind to stop. Saw a ton of reds tailing over mud flats but I lack the skill to catch those fish, they all spooked when my lure hit the water.

I'm surprised that they aren't at the pass now, the water in the bay has been beautiful and salty by relative standards. Also I had a buddy that went offshore Sunday and stopped by one of the platforms where we usually catch trout during the summer and he had no luck. I hope they show up eventually, I remember hitting-em fairly well in Shell Keys around April a couple of years ago. If I get the trout itch too bad I'll just head west I guess...

thanks for the report man!! I've been keeping a close eye on the conditions over there and they are consistently getting better. Just waiting to hear that first spec report, then i'm there. Hopefully they'll move to the near rigs soon. I've got the itch wayyyy to bad right now.

Belive it or not the water around the cove is salty and looks pretty good. Went out there this weekend and caught reds and flounder. Tryed for trout but it started to rain on us. (*** weather man?)

As long as we get anything but a stead east SE wind I think we'll be ok. And the fishing should start early. If we start getting the East SE wind then we are going to get that fresh dirty river water and we'll be waiting all summer for the trout to show up.
