Default New USCG Regulations

I remember you guys discussing the new law regarding the security zone at LNG.

Figured I would share what a friend from LNG sent me....

"Some of you may have noticed a newspaper article published over the holidays that outlined new USCG Security Zones at PPG, Sempra and at our location. The new zones actually went into effect in May of this year but the Coast Guard has not been heavy on enforcing as of yet. I suspect that will begin to change with the new year now that their campaign on public awareness has started. For your information if you fish or if you are asked by others, attached is a representation of the new zone as outlined in red. It’s a significant area. This is a “No Entry Zone” unless approved by the Coast Guard and unlike our old 50’ “Safety Zone”, this one will not change based on whether or not a ship is moored. We will be posting new warning signs on our shoreline this week to inform boat traffic. The Coast Guard has the responsibility for monitoring and enforcing the new zone. As we have done in the past, the Terminal will continue to verbally warn boaters that encroach within the first 50’ nearest the shoreline and contact the USCG should the boater not respond."
