Default Lake Area Marine - Impressed

On a recommendation from some folks here at SC, I recently bought a small trailer for my flat boat at Lake Area Marine. I dealt with Kyle. He was easy to deal with and did a good job keeping me informed of the status of my purchase.

I picked up the trailer, and when I got home to Deridder I noticed that I was missing numerous lug nuts on the left side wheel. The wheel itself had been damaged due to the lack of lug nuts and the lugs themselves were warped due to the wheel/tire not being tight on the hub.

I called Kyle and let him know what happened. Apparently, a new guy at his shop forgot to tighten down the lug nuts when they assembled the trailer.

Without asking him to do so, Kyle said he would come pick up my boat the next day, take it back to Lake Area Marine, have it fixed and then bring it back to my house. Kyle did exactly what he said he would do and I had my boat the next day.

Any dealership can make a mistake and nobody likes to be on the receiving end of it, but taking ownership and responsibility for a mistake makes all the difference in the world as far as customer service goes. I was impressed by the way Lake Area handled the situation and I would certainly do business with them again in the future as a result of how they took care of me in this situation. Thanks to Kyle and Lake Area Marine for making a bad situation a whole lot easier to live with.

I also can vouch for their customer service. Been dealing with them for over 10 years now and Kyle and Gerald are first class guys. No one takes better care of their customers than them.

Gerald and Kyle are real good peeps. I bought a Blue Wave from them and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I would recommend them to anyone.

When I was there I saw a real nice Red Blackjack on the lot. The price seemed pretty good too.

I bought my very first boat from Gerald at Lake Area Marine about 20+ years ago and my 2nd upgraded boat a couple of years later. He was great to deal with back then too.

I think he said the Blackjack was 48k. Of course, that was just the asking price.

I would buy from there. I'm not much on their mechanics, but for buying a boat I would definitely shop there. They've been very courteous every time I've went in there.
