A cool breezy morning on the DU! I fished with my podna Mr Jules Broussard in his boat today leaving from his camp on Falgout Canal at daybreak. His friend Mr. Allen DeMoss joined us for our adventure. I fish with Mr Jules about twice per month and always enjoy his company. Lake Decade is always the location we fish-good or bad. Since the wind was brisk out of the NE we hugged the north bank and picked at the trout all morning. Shiny Hinys and Mr Jules chartreuse sparkle beetle with the red dot is all we threw this AM. We finished at 9:15 with 63 trout in which about a dozen of them were white trout. The wind picked up and the bite shut down about 8:30.Talked with Capt Gerald who was having a good morning with the trout. My son Chris and his friend had their 50 trout by 9:00 and were catching reds, puppy drum and sheepshead every cast for lagniappe. The fishing or should I say "catching" is on fire right now on the DU!. Duck season should open with a bang as the past few days I've noticed big numbers of birds everywhere we fished. Plenty of Greys and Widgeon. Wish I could be in a blind Saturday morning but I have to work. Sure was a fun time with Jules & Allen and I look forward to our next trip in December. Good luck fishing.
