When I turn on my ceiling fan in my living room, it makes a buzzing sound. I thought it may be the fan motor or something going out, but it is coming from the gang box. Any thoughts on what it may be? I hate messing with electrical crap but I think it may be just a loose wire. It is on a 3-way and the other switch does not work.

Loose wire. Just kill the breaker before you open it up

I'm thinking a loose connection also, once u open ceiling fan box u should be able to see the problem, sometimes it burns the wire nut.

Sure did. It was the sensor for the remote. I disconnected it because I lost the damn remote anyways!
