My mom use to fix cow tongue fairly often when I was growing up. I guess my Dad had something to do with liking cow tongue, because he grew up on a farm. Mom was a city girl with love for the outdoors.
We [my 2 brothers, and sister] would fight over who would get the "tip". Usually it would be cut down the middle, so two people got the tip. I remember mom pulling the skin off after boilling it some. |

Much easier buying it cleaned. That's how I buy mine. But I know you can pour boiling water on it to clean it.

There is a guy from Mexico visiting here for some training. He was just asking me if I knew of a restaurant that serves "barbacoa" which turns out to be cow tongue. Anyone know any restaurants that serve it in the Lafayette area?

The Mexican guy asked the Venezuelan guy where he could get barbacoa, so the Venezuelan asked me where to get good barbeque. Then the Mexican told me he meant cow tongue, not BBQ. I guess it's like a British guy asking you for a fag. |
