wondering if any of you xpress boat owners have had any issues with water getting in your gas tank, i have a 17 foot side console with a 115, the fuel fill is in the front of the splash well and i am not sure if that is where the water is getting in or if i got a bad batch of gas, i filled up at stop 92 for ethanol free gas on the morning in question, but i have used them several times before and i have never had any problems with their gas before, i filled up at heberts in lydia the day before, but again i have never had any issues with them before, and i talked to the previous owner, they say they never had any issue like that, i do notice alot of water comes up into the splash well if i stop a little to fast, i am thinking that with such a big motor on the back of that small of a boat and such a dumb place to put the filler that i am catching water draining into the tank, i will probably put a rubber plug in the filler to prevent this from happening again

That would still be considered siphoning!! But with the boat/tank angled i can get the water settled more in one spot, and get it out faster with a bigger hose |

I had a 18' xpress bass boat and after a couple of years I would get water in the tank but it was from the sending unit seal on the tank. The way the tank was positioned it held water on top the tank around the sending unit.
