6/7/14 Snapper out of Mermentau

Hopped in a buddies Twin Vee cat targeting Ling assuming the Snapper would happen anyway. Made it out to 55 miles out @ 85-90' deep. Caught the 2 big Ling on the rig at 55 miles out. For those of you that don't know me I'm only 5'6" with thick shoes so the ling is not as big as if some were holding it. Lost one equal in size to the one I am holding on the same rig. Found tons of Sharks but no big Snapper like we thought we'd get out there. The larger Snapper came around the 35-40 mile range on the way in. Trolled 2 rigs with no luck and did some looking at 2 grass mats but never dropped a line. The small Ling in the pic came from the first stop of the morning at the 17 mile mark on whole pogey. Majority of Snapper prefered squid over pogey heads and chartreuse jigs.
