There are many places where Croaker can be caught for bait with a cast net.
Generally find a spot where there is a drop off. This can be in 3 feet or maybe 8 feet of water. Don't throw away the 6" or 7" croaker thinking it is too big. One time I caught a 2 lb trout on a 7" croaker. A few weeks ago, I caught some Croakers in a bayou that was 3 to 5 feet deep. The croaker were 5 to 10 feet off the bank. |
