Hit the jetty today. Wind was up out of SW but pocket alongside the jetty blocked the wind and it was pretty flat. Using live shrimp under a cork and clear/chartreuse plastics, was able to stick 9 solid keeper specks and a nice white trout to put in "the bucket." Also some missed opportunities as some flopped off at the rocks. A few smaller trout, Rat Reds, Ribbonfish and bluefish were also caught. Macs were snipping lines as well. Bite died about 9 am.

It was going good down there the past 7 days or so w/ the calm winds. All kinda reports of trout coming out the surf. Yesterday i had a chance to go and it chopped up, but the area around the jetty saved some trout for me. All solid 16-18 inchers. They looked like carbon copies. |

You can also use navionics or just get hook and line map. I have only fished Galveston three times now but these tools helped me put fish in boat. You gotta study study and take a few trips with some good teaching guides to learn what to look for activity wise. |
