Fished the rocks of the ship channel from the Jetty boat launch parking lot and then up to the rocks lining the bank at the end of Wakefield Rd. hoping for flounder; but no luck. Fishing fat pogies under a cork, all I managed was 5 big hard heads. The water was not muddy but it was very fresh at 8.5 parts per thousand. Wind was also a factor, but died down a bit in the late afternoon.

What kind of Salinity meter did you/do you use? Thanks for reporting that info.
I got a Cheapo meter that cost less than $30.00 off da net that was originally calibrated 0-10 ppt NaCl. I recalibrated it to go from 0-15 ppt. Anything over 15 ppt is OK in my world, fishing wise Last edited by Jrchip1; 04-25-2016 at 10:29 AM. |
