Default 8/26/12 Moss Lake

Hit the lake for a little evening action... started off in prien tryin to find some specs and that didnt happen. turned focus to redfish and had a good little run. boated 12 with 8 being keepers. one speck to add to the bunch also. fish caught on 1/4oz assorted baits in glow and pearl.

Nice catch. Perfect eating sized. Have you ever try grilling reds on pit with skin on with budweiser bbq sauce?

I hear ya I do the same when I dont feel like cleaning my catch. I have a few women at work that keep an ice chest in their trunk now. I will be hitting that general area this afternoon and tomorrow. I am hoping this storm will turn them on. Last week I did good with pearl and also chart with a salt and pepper flake. When I ran out of pearl I couldn't get them to hit glow.

Did you catch them up in the marsh past houses or out on lake side? When do they normally get way up shallow in the marsh where you can see them?

Twenty years ago we use to do good on the north east are where there use to be a small island and some pipes just south of it. I need to do some trolling to find that area with my depth finder.

caught them in marshes.... low tide you can see em up in the grass lines. it was outgoing yesterday. with a high tide they will be all up in the grass area but you wont be able to see em. sometimes you can see the weeds moving. caught two that were on the grasslines but they were chasing shad up shallow. I do my best sightfishing on low tides.

In years past i have found alot of reds in sept around midlake reefs under, under birds.... last year in october i found schools around washout and 9 miles consistenly.

I dont concentrate on them bc the flounder run is coming and specks usually get to be right around those times.

had one take the bait before i could even click the reel. 7:1 ratio came in handy when that sucker started running at me!!!!
