Default Wild Fires

I saw a huge fire on Monkey Island and another one just West of Johnson Bayou today.
Monkey Island was almost completly on fire.
Looks like another one just North of Cameron.
Fires and smoke everywhere down there today.

Default fires

Good ol north winds and dry humidities make for some good fires. Love burning the marsh. Helps out with the native species of grasses, also.

Sabine is turning pretty green after the big one they had last month.
But it didn't kill the cane. Didn't even put a dent in it.

There is one burning some where around Grand Chenier right now, maybe it will make a pass on our place.

Fire was north of Grand Lake, false alarm.
Recieved an email this morning that Miami Corp is going to start control burning Oct-Dec. Don't understand why during hunting season but there must be an explaination somewhere.

The supposed reasoning is it is better for the marsh to burn now. Most hunters leave boats in the marsh so be careful when leaving your boat in the marsh.
