Flat tides

I was thinking of going to Chalmette today or somewhere along those lines to try to get on some sort of fish. I looked at the tide chart and it was showing very flat. I have been told that a flat tide makes it very hard to get the fish rollin. How true is this? Also, is it better to fish(any fish in general) on a rising tide or falling tide?

southern, i heard that a moving tide, moves bait, which in return makes the fish hungry and they move, chasing the bait, thats moving with the tide.... its mother nature doing it !!!

And by a moving tide, I guess that is a tide with decent differences in number from high to low?

Ya'll in for a good one here! Tryin to teach a redneck about tides! I don't even know the names for some of the fish that are in tidal waters! I'm tryin to learn though. The only tides I knew about growing up was if they opened the dam or closed it!

high or low.... google tide guide and look for which part ur fishing, it'll give u times...

That's why I didn't go today. I pulled the tide guide and it didn't look like much. It's really flat this weekend on the SE side. I had been told flat doesn't produce. I didn't really know but that's a long drive to blank on fish.

true that... wait til it shifts, its in between moon phases right now.... give it til next weekend... it'll be totally different... im planning on going next weekend (boat mechanic depending).

Its not the moon phase...I talked to some guys that have slammed them the last 4 days on the lake....limited out by 9:30am with 45trout.....

i dont know what tide was doing today, but if i was going for reds, we SLAMMED em....
