saying goodbye
i see where alot of people post on here asking for prayers and what not.this post is really just for me to vent and get it out.in a few hours i'll be on the road heading back to mississippi to say goodbye to my grandma.not only is she my only grandarent i have left but she pretty much raised me from the time i was knee high to a grasshopper till i was about 10 and started wanting to hang out with my friends.i remember staying at there house and wakin up early and going fishing (back when i used to say "bobber" and "lulu") lol. my grandma is 80 years old fought cancer twice before and wasnt expected to make it through either of them,but came out the victor and lived her life to the fullest.now 10 years later she's losing the battle.i for one just hope i can be 80 years old and still do what she was able to do. she gets up cooks a big breakfast,gardens in the hot sun all day and takes care of 3 grandkids almost all day.it sucks to think about how i kinda grown apart fro her since moving over here,i used to go to her house (which just so happened to be next door) and eat dinner every sunday with her. i got a phone call earlier from my aunt saying my grandma has been in her room talking to her son sam (who has been dead for 20 years) and believes thats gonna be the one to take her to heaven.... i dont mean for this post to bring any of you guys down. its mainly for me to just vent and get it out. ive had it bottled up for a while now...keep her in your prayers guys

believe me i am very greatful im getting to say goodbye. i was supposed to go last weekend and complications came up so when i found out i was able to go today it was the greatest thing ive heard in a while, thank you for your prayers guys

Sounds like a great lady! Don't worry about the growing apart deal. I'm sure she's proud of you for making your own way in life. I know when my grandma was close to the end she did the same thing as yours with talking to my grandpa, who had passed away years before.
Get there and I'm sure that alone will provide a good bit of comfort for you both. God Bless and drive safe in your travels.

I'm sure she is waiting on you to get their before she says good by.don't be suprised once you get their and say goodby she does not pass soon after.I know my grandpaw seemed to wait on me as he was my best friend and cancer had taken it's toll and he did not speak for a week when I got their he said be sure to take care of ur grandma and I told him I would he closed his eyes and passed on.I believe we will meet agian one day.sorry for taking over ur post my prayers are with u

didnt get to say by to any of my grandparents they all passed away when i was in nam wish i would have had the chance to have lots of good memories of going hunting with the grandpaws and both grandmaws could really cook

Brother consider prayers sent.
I must tell you, grand parents, grand mothers particularly, kept me for being in jail at this point in my life. There was no single person I wanted make proud of me more than my grandmothers. I don't care who she is talking to right now, she knows you love her and I am certain she is proud. Get there, tell her loud and proud.......that you love her dearly.

If your the last one she hasnt seen make sure you tell her its ok to go home! My dad held on until my older brother came from Atlanta!! He was talking and seeing lots of people that had already passed! He fought for a while but once we told him it was ok to go he did!! God Bless you and take comfort in where shes goin is much better than here! She'll be in the arms of the Father soon!
