the gravois has been a great hull but im looking into getting into a glass boat. im not getting rid of the gravois just want something with a little more room and comfort. ive decided i want a cat and have narrowed it down to the haynie 24 cat or an scb cat not sure which one yet. my question is ive seen a few scb's for sale on texas sites for good prices and im not against buy used to save a few bucks as i know they make good boats but i remember hearing about some of the older models having trouble with water coming in over the back and flooding. we all know ryans boat sunk so please dont start crap about that. im looking for information on which models had this problem and when the issue was fixed as i dont want to buy one and have to worry about it. thanks

i always wanted a cat and you dont see many of them around. for what reason i dont know because imo they out perform a mono hull in just about everything. im leaning towards the scb because honestly i want to go fast but from what ive read the haynie has a better ride and is more of a fishing boat. more than likely ill go with the haynie but if i can find a really good price on a scb f-22 ill get it.

I have rode in a scb....was not impressed with the ride in chop. Also the fit and finish was poor. Cheap latches, console is bolted down not glassed, very little storage.

I respectfully disagree with all of the above, but I am somewhat biased.. If any one wants to check one out, let me know, you can decide for yourself. There a lot of great boats being built right now. Look at many, and pick the one you like and fits what you will be using it for. |

But it would be nice to cruise at over 60 and run 85+, those boats are very fast.

Those Haynie Cats are pretty sweet, I looked at a 24 in person they are huge!!
Never rode in one tho so I can't say anything performance wise |

Get a 22' Twin-Vee Bay Cat, you can't go 80 but you will be getting a nice boat. http://twinvee.com/Twin-Vee-Bay-Cats.htm

IDK, I thought some investors came in and bailed them out. They are the #1 powered catamaran maker in the US.
