Mainly use Word, Excel, possibly Power Point (kids' school projects maybe). I'm trying to avoid paying for the newest version, but still want to be up to date enough to the point that I can open most any other Word document that I would receive from any other Office Suite. You know that issue that arises when you can't open up a newer Word doc because you have an old version of Office? I hate that.

Looks like it'll be around 119 unless you find a deal...just checked out newegg.com $119 or the same from Microsoft.com

Been running Libre Office for about a year now. Word documents and spreadsheets transfer pretty seamlessly from home to work (Real MS Office), but the transfer of presentations (power points) is a little more rough. When the kids have a presentation for school, they save it as a PDF file to avoid MS Office vomiting all over it. I simply do all work presentations on my work computer. It feels good not to be putting more money in Bill Gates pocket and everything transfers perfectly to the same Libre Office applications on my unix machines. (Linux Kubuntu).
