Default STAR update:
It has been an interesting first few days of the 18th annual STAR Tournament. Just prior to the tournament beginning two of our 50 tagged Redfish were caught and released. And now there is a third! The third was released too, because the lucky angler wasn't signed up yet. More news on this to follow.

Also big news from the West part of the state, Troy Thibodaux of Sulphur landed an 8.16 lb trout this morning in Big Lake. With the help of Elaine Huck of Calcasieu Point Landing, the two weighed the fish, took a few pictures and released the monster back into Big Lake alive. What a great gesture by a great fishermen.

So its not too late to get in on the action, join today!

Guy from Texas caught a 8.4 Saturday with a Guide from Heberts and was not in the STAR.....Why people fish this lake and dont enter I will never know.....

I would love to know how many winning fish are missed out on each year

When STAR first started, guy on my uncle's boat caught a tagged red and wasn't registered.

I had a speck that woulda put me on top in the south east and my wife would. Be on the board with a flounder. I guess I will register anything I catch I think will make the boar. You never know.
