new to the site and new to kayaking. just picked up my jackson cuda .decided to take it to grand isle to break it in and hooked into 6 big reds on top water in the same spot. talk about some fun !!! was not able to land them.though. alot different then landing them in a boat .gonna take some practice . all I used to do is bass fish but after this weekend of having some reds on the line im hooked. is there any places closer to hammomd I can chase some reds and specks that are kayak safe . or anyone wanna get together and make a fishing trip ? just trying to lean all I can about kayak fishing . thanks

I just got a kayak too, I'm in baton rouge, but I fish pearl river a lot and I'm gonna try out some spots by the rigolets as soon as the wind lays down! I might go this weekend.
