Default Power Pole Question

My power pole will leak down when it's in the up position over a period of time. It's got new hydraulic lines on it, but I don't know if one of them may not be leaking a little at the connection to the pump...maybe not holding enough pressure to keep the pole up...Anybody had similar issues? And what is the fix?

Thanks!

air in system will do that. pull the bolt out of the top of cylinder and stroke it in and out all the way a few times that will get the air out.

I've got a very small amount of fluid on the bottom of the box where the pump is mounted, so I think it's leaking, but it could be from when the hoses were changed. I'm gonna clean it all up this afternoon and see if it shows back up under the lines.

BigHead...I'm gonna try that this afternoon to and see...is there anyway to know that you got all the air out of the lines, other than to try it and see if it leaks down again?

Thanks to both of you for the info....

you can hear air bubbles as they go throught the pump. make sure fluid level is good so it don't catch air.

What model do you have?
You definately have a leak somewhere, I have a Blade and i had all kinda problem with creases and pin holes in my lines and leaking down. After talking to power pole, they informed me that it was installed improperly and that will cause small holes and creases until the problem was resolved.
If it is mounted to the transom make sure the holes that the hydraulic lines go through arent to tight or sealed with silicon, if sealed or to tight you will constantly have problems in order for it to move freely it has to pull/push the lines in/out of the transom so there are no kinks. You need a good 2-4 inches of travel back and forth.
Also check you ferrels and make sure they are crimped tight enough or not crimped enough.
Good luck!

Thanks to everyone...I think I found the problem...leaking at the fittings where the hydraulic lines go into the pump...ordered two new fittings from Power Pole...hopefully it'll take care of it. Thanks again!
