trolling motor transducer
I just bought a couple of humminbirds for the bass boat and I want to mount one on the trolling motor. The depth finder comes with a transom mount transducer, a trolling motor transducer is between $50-80 depending on which website you go to. I am thinking that I will just bolt up the transom mount to a piece of sheet metal and just clamp it to the motor with some big hose clamps. Would this work or should I just nut up and buy the transducer that is made for a trolling motor?

Big hose clamp works fine. That's what I did. No problems

I just got off the phone with humminbird and they have a transducer exchange program. All I have to do is send them my uninstalled transom mount and they send me the trolling motor transducer free of charge. I'm very impressed that they are willing to work with me, I would have expected them to want to nickle and dime me and make me pay for a new one.
