Ive got a motor guide pro series 70 on my pro drive boat. It came with the boat, and I havent used the trolling motor very much at all. Its about 5 yrs old. It spends most of its time on the shelf under my carport, because I use the boat mainly for hunting and fish mostly salt water with my bay boat. I fished with it yesterday a lil while. Works fine, but Im not used to the foot control since my motor on my bay boat is hand controlled. I prefer the hand control. I would like to trade it for a comprable hand controll or sell it. Anybody have any interest in this motor? Also, would a 55lb thrust be sufficient to push my boat? Its 17'x54"

IMO....if you have a 70# TM now, you will not be happy with a 55#.
I moved up from a 55# on a 15x42 AL boat to a 70# on a 16x50 boat and I can chase the fish much better now. |

Ditto this. After I won some money in the trout shootout one year I upgraded to a 24V, some new batteries and an onboard charger. I could never go back to a 12V.

well, Ill prolly stay with a 70lb but would rather the hand controlled. Maybe someone will want this foot controlled. I really dont need a whole lot of speed unless there is a current. I dont fish this boat for saltwater. I ran it most of the day friday on the first speed and that was plenty fast for what we were doing.
