I'm going to head down to the Cameron pier early tomorrow. I know it quickly turns into no man's land down there. Ill be taking hwy. 27 to get down there. Any tips on where to grab any live bait that way? I'll have the cast net, but want some back up since I'm a novice at tossing the net. Wait, that's to gentle, the baitfish actually point and laugh as I sail banana after banana their way. Thanks for any help!

look up "How to Throw A Castnet" on YouTube and learn how to throw one because there is no need to buy bait if you are going down Hwy. 27.

You can get live shrimp at spicers in hackberry. Dugas landing used to have live croaker but not sure if they still do.

Pretty much. Inside the refuge boundaries you can't throw til after noon. I think? May be mistaken. But, there are plenty other places to throw.

there is a cut that runs across the road to the cameron jetty pier that usually has some mullet in it, you can cast net there. there is also a bait shop where the monkey island ferry used to be in cameron that sells live and dead bait.
