North America on Discovery
Anybody else watched it Sunday night? It's a 7 part series on the discovery channel that just started this past Sunday (the 26th) Some amazing footage of animals in the wild.

I've watched the first two shows. Last one I saw was with the eagles attacking the snow geese, eating it and than playing catch with its head while flying around.

I wonder how long it took to film and edit all that. Had to be a couple years or so.

If it's anything like Planet Earth, then I bet it took longer than just a couple. I think Planet Earth took them a decade or more to film. Is it similar to the Planet Earth series? That is one of my all-time favorite Discovery Channel series. Got the DVD set at the apartment.

I cant rememeber how long it was, but the Birds of Paradise Episode for Planet Earth took a very long time to capture those birds dancing... guys pulled 16hr shifts in a tent and camo to try and film those birds. Watch the making of the Mountain Goat episode... the weather they endured is nuts.

Planet Earth had several different episodes based on different habitats. Deep Oceans, Shallow Seas, Temperate Forests, Rainforests, Great Plains, Mountains, and Desert. Might have been another one or two in there, but those are the ones I remember. Shallow Seas and Rainforests are my favorite ones.

Yeah, these guys go to extremes to get this footage. I tell you, I wouldn't turn my nose up at that opportunity IF I didn't have a family here. They get to see some amazing things in this world that not many people get to experience IN PERSON. As much as I enjoy these shows, I would love to experience some of these things in person.
