New Rod Question

I was about to order two St. Croix rods from a local dealer, who is very reputable. He said I should look into the Duckett series of rods. I only heard a little about this "white poles".

I would appreciate any body sharing any inforamtion they may have on the Duckett rods. I have always used Falcon or St. Croix.

They are very light..never fished with one though

i have two of the duckett rods one of the regular ones and one white ice ($200 ones). Although the white ice is a little lighter and more sensitive than the $160 ones, I don't know if they are worth the extra $40. I've fished with Falcon Bucoos, Falcon Caras, $100 castaways and allstars, shimano cumara and the Veritos rod before, and I would say that the duckett rods are probably on par with other rods in the same price range. I think one of the most sensitive rods and one of my favorites would have to be the Veritos for $100 BUT you have to be EXTRA careful with the rod eyes and handling of fish with them. I've broke 4 of those Veritos, but like I said extremely sensitive and light. My Duckett rods seem to be holding up to some abuse, I've slapped them on my trolling motor quite a few times while casting, and they haven't broke yet!! LMAO

If I had to buy some more rods, I'd probably go with Ducketts, Falcons, or Shimano. Shimano has the best rod seat in the market, I find. I haven't tried the Shimano Crucial yet, but it felt like an excellent rod. I was between it and the Duckett when I bought the duckett and only because at the time the were new and hip lol

Depends on freshwater or saltwater. They are the best freshwater rod on the market. But they aren't to applicable for saltwater use I use them bass fishing and Duce saltwater.

Man I just got a 7'2" crucial and broke it on my second redfish. Was unhooking him and ...... Clunk. Tip broke. I will probably get another one. Hopefully Railside let's me swap it out. I really liked the rod. I love my wright and McGill rods and my waterloo also.

Do yourself a huge favor and go to kistler.com and check out the klx line of rods. They are affordable high end rods. I have been fishing the zbone le's for quite a while and these are almost on par at less than half the price.

G Loomis Pro Green, medium light action, is about as good as it gets for tossing light plastics. Its definitely pricey, but well worth it IMO.

That is one bad arse rod I just haven't been able to talk myself into it.

Do yourself a favor and go for it! I mostly fish livebait offshore and like a heavier rod than the Pro Green for implanting those kahle hooks. But when I venture over to BL and fish lighter and shallower, this rod has never disappointed.
