Ill be staying 10 minutes from the lake for the next 2 months for work and we are knocking off at 3 in the afternoon. I'm thinking about hauling my boat with me next week. Anyone have any reports for that south side/ causeway?

You can watch episodes of local fishing shows online. Just find the ones on Lake P.
I saw one where they fished near the casino in Kenner this past weekend. I would definitely haul my boat there. I wade fished on the south end as a kid. Fishing was terrible because shell dredging was still legal. It's really a great place to fish now. |

I would skip Des Allemands and hit Cataouchie, about the same distance from Metairie. Des Allemands is fine too. Cataouchie has bigger fish. Both are freshwater
I don't know if I'd hit Lake P in a flatboat. |

To the OP have you ever fished the bridge before? The Causeway can be pretty tough sometimes. Alot of people switch to live bait at this time of year. If you are gonna fish plastic make sure you use a heavy enough jighead. Either 3/8 or 1/2 oz. You want to make sure the bait gets to the bottom and jig it back slowly. Fish the down current side of the pilings
