The way it sounds, ol boy had a very specific person in mind and, a very (in his mind) good reason to do what he did. This may be, while tragic, an interesting story to watch unfold.

My wife read something that said the shooter was a deacon in the church. No motive yet.

Might have been Ministerin to the Flock a little too much. Pastoral misconduct is a covered item in most church insurance plans now days for a reason.

He was holding confession, but not at the church! Did anyone see the interview with his daughter on KATC-TV3. "He was always smiling".................yeah, I bet he was...........until he saw his buddy coming at him with a shotgun. Did anyone else notice they charged him with 2nd degree murder????? That covers "crimes of passion".

From a girl at work who's grandma goes to church there.

The pastor had flings with many women who attended church there. Even fathered a number of children in the audience this way. As a matter of fact they said the church had closed down once before because of his flings.
The shooter had been going to pastor for counseling because he thought his wife was cheating. Not knowing he was looking at the cheating partner.
When he walked in church he just said "it was you" and shot next.
