Default Sad News

Guys,

I hope by reading this, you will think twice before making that lone ranger trip to the woods. As always, this time of the year we all want to get out in the woods and kill something as it has been a long summer.

A guy that used to work with me was out last weekend duck hunting by himself and his dog in TX for the opener and never came home. He was found yesterday in the woods with his dog lying by his side as it appears he died from a massive heart attack.

As we venture out over the next few months, it is always a good plan to let someone know where you will be hunting and when you should return. RIP Doug.

Josh

Sorry for the loss of your friend...... And for what it's worth, at least he died doing something he loved.

Godspeed to his family and friends.

Very sad. Sorry for your loss however, if I could pick my exit, that might be it.

No doubt he died doing something he loved. 56-57 yrs old is still too early to exit.

I started back to a little exercise this week. Gotta be in shape to drag deer and walk the marsh.

Hard to hear stories like this.......

But like has been said......he went out doing what he loved.
I agree with you......always lay out a plan and let someone know.
I truly love a good day out on my own.......I see little things that I feel the big man meant just for me........however I will leave some breadcrumbs for my friends....they can find me

So sorry for the loss of your friend. Prayers to you and his family. I am retired, but never hunt alone. Number 1 it isn't safe, number 2 it is not as much fun. You need somebody to share the experience with.
