Fished in the drizzle this morning. Tiny trout under the birds first stop. Moved on to large flat and drifted into a nice body of 13-15s with a nice 17 incher as the biggest. Some good strikes on topwater but had many fish pull off when pulling them against the strong current.
Switched to a cork rig with double rigged deadly Dudley terror tails and it was sinking regularly. Fish came and went and finished the limit in about an hour and a half.
Was gonna play C&R for a while but a 30 lb + red wanted to play and I obliged. Right up until the Big Nasty buried the hook in my right ring finger. Back to the camp for a little first aid. First time is ever done the "push it through and clip it" method. Not too bad.
Red got away when the unpleasantness went down...
