Shelf life of fish fillets?
I caught a few trout and reds Monday, filleted them Tuesday and they have been in the refrigerator since. I usually freeze fillets right after cleaning but planned on cooking these and didn't get to it. My question is are they still good? Also, how long will fish stay good in the refrigerator?

They are gonna be a little bit dried out by now... give em a bath in some ice cold water to hydrate them and then fry em up / bake em / etc.
Generally speaking fresh caught fish that has been properly handled you can expect a fridge life of up to 1 week. If your worried about it just fry em a bit more / bake em for an extra 1 0 minutes.. PS the true standard is the sniff test.... they should have a little bit of a fishy odor... but no ammonia smell. |
