The last two days were great, my son came in from Texas and we hit the water at sunlight yesterday and today. We brought back 12 trout yesterday nothing large but nice, around 15" to 18". Today was much better, we tagged and released 15 trout and kept 8. The ones we kept were all over 18" and the biggest coming in right at 22". Going to try out fishing the afternoon tomorrow and hoping for some of the same as the last few days. We fishing bay Au Fer and Billet Bay.

I am slow with uploading pics but here are a few of the trout we caught. They were all this size except for the one my son is holding, he measured in right at 22". He caught two this size over the weekend.
Ah yes... the reds were mixed in the trout as well. |

Forgot to mention. These pics were from fishing the afternoon. It was slow but steady fishing up until the very end where it got very exciting.
About a half hour before sunset the bite turned on and it was if the fish had not been feeding for days. Every cast we were hooked up with nice trout, and they were very acrobatic to say the least. I had never seen trout this size so active in one spot. If you lost a fish, it was but a matter of seconds and another one was going airborne after your bait. All day long we had not seen any birds working, and all the trout we had caught up to this point were along the shore line. We were on our way back to the boat ramp when we noticed the birds working and decided to try them out... what a great choice to make! |
