What's the water look like on the lake, is it still pretty muddy ? Heading out there Saturday. The weather looks good.

It has cleaned up quite a bit. Still has some stain to it but not as muddy as it had been. Not sure how the weather the past two days has affected it though

It looked like dog $hit on the south end this Morning. Cleaned up a little by the afternoon. Water was much better in west cove. Launched in Cameron and didn't venture over to the east bank.

Does anyone understand what areas of the lake clear up first or stay the cleanest on average. I hear about guides saying that they had to find clear water but surely certain areas do certain things depending on conditions like tides and winds after it rains.

I think this time a year tidal movement trumps water clarity. Find moving tide and bait and you will find fish. I caught some good fish in horrible water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the info Marque. That's what I was thinking anyway but there are people out there who think fish cant be caught in dirty water.

I think they mainly keep track of the wind direction for days prior since they are always out there. We've been getting a bunch of SE winds, so I'd say right now SE banks are probably the cleanest.
