What would be some problems I should worry about if I convert a dry box into a fish box? First of all, it would drain into the subfloor (hull). Could this cause a problem? Next, I would have to drill the drain holes larger-- probably the size of a 1inch drain plug-- so I can plug the holes when there is ice/fish. Finally, I would have to put some sort of insulation on the inside of the box. Anyone tried this before? What do you'll think? I want more walking room... the 100 quart is getting in the way.

is the dry box on the front deck?? if so drill through the front close to the bottom and put a rubber stopper in the hole it wont drain as good as it would in the floor but then you dont have slime in the hull stuck who knows where. with the hole in the face of the box you could rinse it out with a hose when you are done and leave the plug out when not in use to air dry it. as far as insulation use a closed cell spray foam google it , they sell kits that come with a tank this foam will not absorb moisture but make sure you mask everything off cuz it makes a mess

Dry storage is in the bow... right in the middle. Only thing is the back of the box (toward the center console) is very thin... probably only 1/4'' thick.

cut a peice of marine wood (the stuff that looks like a cutting board) and glass it in the drybox 1-1.5 inches away from th eexisting front and fill the gap with the closed cell foam and then cap it |
