water was nice all day long cept on the ride home....wind turned SW at about 9knots and put up a 1ft chop....not a nice ride back in a 18ft flat bottom lol |

Smaller drum are good eatin. Big ones are just like big Reds, not so guud.
Grind them up and they make good stuffing for fake stuffed crab patties. |

I'm with Meaux on that one. Under 5 pounds you'll never know the difference versus a red once cooked.

black drum was pretty good..cooked them in open foil on the pit with butter and lemons......reds on the half shell..... end result.....

You can cook them on the halfshell just like reds,they taste the same to me.
