I haven’t caught a flounder in the bay in a decade. Don’t even try anymore. When late October comes every year I go to Cameron.

Can anyone explain what has happened to Vermilion Bay that has cause the fisheries to decline or is it just something some folks are using for lower catch?

Fishermen there just know to keep their mouths shut when they catch limits in the bay! But honestly we are still in the hit or miss time of year. October and November have always been the best months for me over the 25 years I've been fishing there. |

Even though it's still September fishing was a lot better before the last few years
I remember when I was still in college I would fish vermillion bay 2-3 times a week during the fall and do good Even in early September Now I don't even go until October Probably explains why I don't know the bay like I used to |

I believe the last 3-4 years have been super high runoff of fresh, that hasn't exactly helped it.
For Flounder.. You can catch them year round but best months tend to be October, November, and December. February and March can be good as well. |
