Default suggestions on blind cover

The old cover we used was heavy and rusted. Looking to just buy a metal lid. Something lightweight but heavy enough to not blow off. Blind is 8'6" by 2'6". Any suggestions on metal?? Or places in suphur that can cut metal? I live near Houston River rd.... have seen a metal shop by the sausage link but dont know too much about it. Other suggestions on covers would work. Just need something to keep the snakes, gators, and rain out.

Thanks
Eddie

yup, good shop. For ours we just made a frame from 2x4 then a piece of sheet metal on top. Not bad at all. We use that to cover up for the off season. During the season we just use 3 plywood squares. You can easily remove and place them at the bottom of the blind (across floor and stand on them). Or if only 2 people hunt, you just slide them to the center and it gives you more cover by covering the hole some.

Mine is fiberglass......painted up the bottom so when I flip it up, it blends in.....not to heavy, and easy to make! !

this sounds like a plan... I dont need anything special as long as it keeps the rain out.. other suggestions are appreciated. something low budget that gets the job done and not too heavy.

Cost ya about 100 in materials. 2x4 and plywood mold, with some small PVC pipe in an X pattern on top for rigidity. Lay your glass and resin and let dry!
