Went last friday to lake chene. Caught a dozen nice trout rite at daylite till the moon hit the horizon. Done the same thing last full moon but it Was 3 days later and I got a limit before they quit. This weekend ought to be good but it looks like tide gunna top out early might be a better afternoon bite. Reds were all up n down the bayou's but I quit fishing them cause i got tired of throwing back bulls. Kept 2 better than 33 inches and only 1 24.

I went last Thursday and stayed close in fishing catfish lake.
caught 20 white trout average 15" and I threw back about that many right at 10-12" caught 4 nice specks about 2-3lbs and one around 1 1/2 lbs. didn't try the redfish but I went to the back and tried lake billiot and caught 34 sail cats in 40 minutes and that kinda took the wind out of my sails for staying longer so I went to my house to cut the grass. I figure I did good considering they had oyster dredgers working about 1/4 mile away on both sides of me dirtying the water so I stayed in the middle where it was cleaner and the incoming tide helped carry cleaner water with it. I did come cursing as these idiots were blasting deadliest catch sound track so loud I could clearly hear it 1/4 mile away and the other guy had sweet home Alabama going lol. I was getting a steady bite, albeit not lighting it up, so I stayed. |
