5 months???? There is no way you have that dog obedience trained by 5 mos. No way should you be bringing a pup that young on a hunt without any training and if you do you certainly shouldn't be correcting him on anything because he don't know anything yet. This is a good way to teach him bad habits and or freak him out. He needs to be obedience trained and introduced to the gun before you start taking him in the field. You stand a chance to make him gun shy. He's just way too young to bring to the field.
