Intracoastal City 3-13-12

Headed out with my buddy and his wife for a short trip to the "Game Wardens Camp Canal" yesterday around 11pm. Water was not as bad as I thought it would be over there but still stained. Managed to only catch a couple shrimp with the castnet so we just used some market shrimp in hope of a few channel cats. Ended the trip with only 3 channel cats and his wife had two throw-back reds around 15 and a half inches. If it was not windy I think working the grass edge would have maybe produced a few reds because that is where his wife caught both of them. The wind made for a wet boat ride coming in but we had a great day on the water and I FINALLY was able to go fishing in 2012 and have something tug on my line.
