Default Big Lake 19 Mar Trout & Red

AggieTiger (my son) and I went this morning. Got on the water around 7 cutting through the fog. It was his last day of spring break and a beautiful sunrise.

Water in Turner's was prettiest and clearest seen since last year. 4th day in the row, he hooks the first fish, a twin trout to the 19" 2# released live last Saturday. A nice fish. 6 more trout including a double hook-up and things slowed down when we got surrounded by about 10 boats. All biting on anything with white and yella (sand eel, devil eye, jerk jr. fatboy)

Headed south and picked up 9 reds. Thought we would get our two limits but that number 10 was tough as we released at least 10 ratreds before heading back to the dock. (Natural shrimp and chart swimming mullet gulp and fatboy) Man the reds are skinny!

A great day overall. Redfish fillet went in the freezer. Frying the trout tomorrow and grilling the big boys Sunday.

Winds were light from the South early and then shifted from the West.
