Default Plowing thru the oil in P-cola for one last trip

I would have a fun and excited crew to begin the day since this would be the first day of summer for the kids and maybe the last day to hit the gulf for awhile. The crew would be my buddy's "aka River Runner" 2 boys, his niece and my own son Derek. This would be River Runner's boys and niece first time ever fishing the G.O.M so I was anxious to find the bite.

When we passed through the tide line in the bay it was covered in oil and my stomach hit my throat but I didn't even check up steaming towards the pass. We plowed through 3ft sea conditions against the SE winds and finally arrived our spot around 0800...It didn't take long to find the mingo bite so plenty of smiles to go around. The snapper bite yielded many shorts but still the crew was happy to just bring in mingo and around 11:00 they were celebrating a nice box of fish with following seas headed for the pass.

Here's some pics of the morning..

The Crew

Garret showing us how it's done
Just a lil short but great job all the same Garret

All triggered out
Derek's only just barely keeper
Travis was on fire today and gets "Mostest Award"
Rayanne gets in on the action...That big water cannon boat in the background was jockeying in around recreational boats looking like a party boat
When the recreational boat next to us pulled anchor, this thing moved right in it's place sporting a crew with fishing poles.
After a cool dip in the pool back home we take care of some fish cleaning duties

Till next time G.O.M., Thank you for another great day on the water!

Jimmy
