The Whiskey ****to is a dangerous river. I know of several people that have been injured or paralyzed from hitting something under the water on that river. The underwater structure is ever changing with every flood. I had a brother in law (RIP) that became a quad after a serious car wreck and have seen first hand the devastation it caused to his own life and everyone close too him. He was injured at 21 years old and lived in pain every day for 10 years from nerve damage. Ironic because he couldn't move anything from the neck down but one finger, and could not feel anyone touch him, yet right below his left collar bone he said it felt like hot irons pressing into his chest with just the slightest waft of air over it. It will be three years tommorow since his passing , he was 31 years old. Sorry for the hijack, but I hope for this person's sake this person can make a recovery. My prayer's go to him and his family. I hope he can make a full recovery for the sake of his quality of life. Also, if anyone knows this person or his family, it is critical if at all possible that this victim be taken to a hospital specialising in spinal cord injuries. No facility in Louisiana is properly equpped to handle injuries of this type. Craig hospital in Denver is one of the best in the country, and there are others, just none very close to Louisiana.
