Ok guys, I am getting ready to take off for the camp, so give me all your opinions while I am away. Attached is a picture of the trailer for the Contender. I have seen hundreds of trailers for big boats like this that have the bunk carpet last less than a year. As you can see, this trailer needs new 'something", but I am not leaning towards carpet.
I am thinking of ripping some schedule 40 PVC pipe in like a 4" size, then attaching it to the sides of the boards w/ stainless screws and washers. The little "glide" packs they sell at Bass Pro and such is not an option due to the weight of this boat. Those do work well and I have them on my trailer, but I'm looking at something to protect this money we are spending on the hull! |
