Success in the woods

Just made it home from a great hunting trip. I left out early Wednesday morning and ventured to the Bogalusa area to find a few deer and a hog.

The small 8 point was the first antlered deer I have ever shot. I have killed several does through the years but just never was able to get a shot on a buck. I was going to be home for New Years Eve but decided to stay.

About 4:45 there were a few does playing and they vanished quickly.....a few minutes later this 8 point appeared and not only is it the biggest I have ever killed obviously but it was the biggest ever killed off the property I was hunting.

Hell of a New Years Eve for me. The good Lord gave me a special blessing.
