Calcasieu River & Pond

My son wanted to go fishing today even with all the rain here lately I knew it was going to be kind of tuff. We were heading to the river and I called a friend to see if he wanted to tag along and we ended up fishing in his pond which is a pond in the middle of a cow field nothing special about it. Caught a couple in the pond and went to the river and hiding from the wind was the hard part. We ended the day with about 15 or so fish caught and kept a couple for fresh fish. The two biggest were caught in the pond the rest were caught in the river. The water in the river towards Sam Houston and past Sam Houston looks decent. The water temp was 55 degrees. The fish in the pond were biting on the KVD 1.0 Crawfish color crank bait and in the river it was the white/chart Humdinger and a brim color Stanley spinner baits. Yes I know I was dressed like I was in the 80 that has already been pointed out all the way down to the sandals and socks. All that matters is my son had fun and is getting good and working that trolling motor.
