Short riggin
Caught a few Wednesday evening on the short rigs between Sabine and Cameron. Not a bunch of trout, but the ones we landed were solid. I went with some guys from work, and when we started catching bluefish one after the other, and throwing them back, one of them asked if they were legal. I said yes, and he told us to start putting them on the ice. Well it was very late when we got in, so we re-iced the fish, and cleaned them last night. The bluefish guy was about to leave with a solid gallon of filets, when I asked if I could have a couple. I cooked them immediately, and them little suckers are pretty good. The will go on the ice from now on. The rest of the trip was mixed bag fishing with reds, specks, snapper, drum, bluefish, spanish mackeral, and a couple of hardheads mostly all caught on gulps. I'm ready for more light wind days that will allow those short rig trips on weekdays after work.
