Me and YellowChamp loaded up in the BlackJack and left the marina before 5:15am on the long run to the beach. Water was not as pretty as those who reported it from the day before but fishable. Winds were out of the NE but not for long, switching to the east and then SE soon. Topwater only yielded baby gaftops so I switched to plastic and it was not a frenzy but a decent bite but didn't last too long. My partner was hard headed and it took him too long to switch to what I was catching on. Once the bite was over we headed in and decided to stop at the jetties on the west side near the beach. Water was clear and bait everywhere. The skitter began to work although many trout were knocking it out of the water without taking it. Ended the day with 19 trout and 2 reds. Every now and then my partner has a difficult day, today was one.
