Dularge Trout Slam 7-28-12
I helped out Capt Anthony Kyzar today with a three boat charter. We picked our crew up from thier houseboat in Falgout Marina and were off after a quick breakfast. It was a one stop trout slam today, as we caught well over 150 fish and never moved the boat. Every fish caught on double rigged plastics, as there was no need for live bait today. Avocado Matrix shad was the hot bait today, with the avocado sparkle beetle coming in second. I did catch a handful on a Shiney Hiney in a shrimp color under a cork. My crew had a blast reeling in fish for three hours until the bite shut down. Their arms and hands were all sore, but loved every minute of it!! We had to weed through a bunch of small fish, but ended with a solid box. We stoped and drifted four different banks for redfish, but none produced today. Another great day with great company, looking forward to fishing with this group again. Thanks Capt Anthony for setting it up.
7-27-12 trip
Not much to say about yesterdays trip. I had Brad Crook back on board with a couple of his friends. Woke up and saw the gulf covered in storms. It did not appear safe to go offshore, so we decided to fish for bass and reds. The bass hole was covered in lillies and was unfishable, tried several other holes with no luck. Went for the reds and they would not bite. We finally started putting a few reds in the boat at another location then the sky fell on us and chased us in. Tough day for us, as our last two trips together were off the charts.
