Default Reds & Trout 09-13-12

Went fishing with a buddy of mine from work. The plain was to hit the Prien area due to the water looking good and the high salinity level. There is a saying that plains change and they did. Hit two spots and nothing happening and to be honest it was a shock with the water being gin clear and the salinity level was high the water temp was 84 to 85 degrees and the tide was ripping out. Decided to make a run south towards big lake before the morning wore off and while traveling caught a glimpse of some birds working in the back corner of the first cut into Haymark. They were working all around the islands towards the back. Got in on the birds and put the anchor down and finished the day with 20 solid trout and 7 reds. I did notice the water was not as clear and had a green tint to it, the temp was running 80 to 81 degrees and the tide was going out hard but not ripping. My fishing partner was using a Natural shrimp Jerk Jr and I was using a Cajun Pepper 3 inch Egret Wedgetail Mullet. Both of us were using a 1/4 oz jig head and the baits were worked with a medium to fast action. I like catching mix bags of fish and all the reds caught were at that right size not to big and not to small. Caught a lot of throw back trout. It was a good day to be on the water and catching added to the good day. I hope this helps I trying to give good detailed reports.
